Basswood and Poplar Box Dulcimer

This box shape dulcimer is 30" long and 6" wide, with a 23" VSL. The soundboard is Basswood. The back is poplar. The sides are red cedar and the fretboard is maple with Padaukdots for fret markers. It has Nickel-silver frets and black tuners.

Frets - There are 15 frets, plus a 1.5, 6.5, and 8.5.

The hole below fret 1 is to allow the use of a Dunlop capo.  The Dunlop 11F will work.  The picture shows a Dunlop 14F.  It is slightly higher priced, but it is more adjustable and will fit a larger neck.

This video will show more about the instrument, but note that I have upgraded the headstock.  I think the new version is better for tuning and changing strings.
